Virginia’s First Lady Reminisces about Living in McLean

MCLEAN, VA –Virginia’s First Lady Maureen McDonnell lived in McLean for four years and remembers riding her bicycle from her family’s home near Langley High School to Great Falls and seeing not one house.

“McLean is a wonderful place to live if you work in the city. . . It’s still quaint and has that charm of a rural area.” Mrs. McDonnell reminisced about McLean Tuesday night when she and her husband Gov. Robert McDonnell attended the annual spring benefit for the McLean Project for the Arts (MPA).

About 250 people jammed the McLean home of  Georgia and John Nassikas and the tents setup on the lawn for the annual benefit. This is usually a garden party, but in last night’s chilly temperatures folks bundled up in coats, jackets and shawls. Continue reading
